I have been knitting since my aunt taught me at age 7. I attempted a scarf which turned into a baby’s blanket (aka a scarf cut short when I got bored with it). I really got into knitting while I was in college. At that point, I started knitting anything and everything that caught my fancy – scarves, hats, mittens, gloves, socks, sweaters, shawls and toys. As I knit more, I began to modify patterns and design a little bit. I hate seaming and finishing so tend to knit everything I can in the round. At this point, a lot of my knitting is for my nieces and nephews.
In the rest of my life, I work in affordable housing finance and am a semi-professional kiteboarder. I split my time between the Outer Banks of North Carolina; Baltimore, Maryland; and traveling to warm and windy locations around the world for kiteboarding.
